Summers shower brings sheets of rain
Sliding down my window pane
Like a cat Im loathe to leave
till perhaps a slight reprieve
makes reaching shelter a safer bet
though Ill still be soaking wet
She stands and waits out on the pier
The reason that I drove out here.
She beckons for me to join her there
Of the weather unaware
or more simply doesnt care?
She had found the waiting boring
For the rain to stop pouring
And now her eyes are me imploring
That I could be dry, the cars airtight,
but youll regret you lost the fight
and never dared to see this sight
I take a breath, my doors unlock
to join her warmth, on the cold, wet dock
